Oh, What do You do in the Summertime?

We were lucky enough to spend 75% of our first month of summer break traveling.  When we got home, my children were a tad high maintenance since they'd been over-stimulated with non-stop fun for a month.  I've been busy coming up with fun ideas to try to keep them busy while we're at home between days at the pool and other fun field trips.  Where do I go for ideas?  Pinterest, of course!

Just a few days ago, we made playdough.  I have posted my own recipe for glitter playdough HERE, and liquid playdough HERE. But this week we tried this no cream of tarter recipe found at To the Moon and Back.

The dough turned out perfect and is still in great condition several days later.  One batch is more than enough to split in two, though, so if you need multiple colors for multiple littles, one or two batches will suffice!

We also had fun with these robot prompts from Picklebums.  My oldest even ended up cutting his robot parts and pasting his new 'bots together.  The nice thing about this is that Picklebums was nice enough to offer it as a free printable, so we can go back for more anytime we want! ;)

Just before school let out for the year, some high schoolers came to my son's kindergarten class and did origami with them.  Since then, he's been obsessed.  So, we recently ordered this Origami Fun Kit for Beginners (Dover Fun Kits)from Amazon: (affiliate link)

It has been great for both my boys.  Obviously, I have to help them out a lot, but it is great for fine tuning their fine motor and critical thinking skills.  After they are done folding their origami, they color in the faces and any details they may want.  I currently have quite the zoo collection going on in my house.  Their imaginations have run wild...their cats have names and their pigeons now have nests...by far the best $8.00 I've spent all summer.

What about you?  How have you been keeping your little ones busy this summer?

Incredible Hulk Baby Costume

**UPDATE:  If you are looking to purchase this costume, please click HERE**

Last week, I showed you the {sweet little ghost costume} I had just finished up.
This week, I'm showing off a custom order request from one of my most loyal customers.
She wanted her almost 1 year old to be The Hulk for Halloween this year.
After mulling it around a bit, this is what I came up with.
(And luckily, my daughter is the same size, so I had a model to work with!)

For the top, I took a onesie (one size too small), cut a few holes in the chest and the arms. I then lined those holes from the inside with green fabric to make it look like green muscles were bulging out.  I also added some padding to the inner chest area to make it look like his chest is bulging.

I frayed the fabric a little bit in the front along the neckline, and jaggedly cut the sleeves off.  Once I cut those, I roughed them up a bit too.  Can't have The Hulk looking too nice and orderly!
I also slashed a piece in the back.

The waist, I think, is my favorite part.
All I did was very carefully, cut a few holes in the front side of the waistband, so I wouldn't ruin the elastic that was already in there.  I then took a piece of rope and shoved it in there with the elastic.  That way, the waistband wasn't compromised, but I still had a casing for the rope.

And then I repeated the same process I used on the shirt; lining holes with the same green fabric and slicing up the hemline.

There you go!  Another fun, unique and not too difficult Halloween costume for your little one this year!

Summer Lovin'

I know I've been MIA for awhile...we've been busy enjoying our summer before my two oldest start school in another month.  Here's a quick recap on what we've been up to:

Spent a week in Utah visiting family

Stopped at Hoover Dam

We've been spending LOTS of hours at the pool

And exploring different parks

I can't believe we only have a month before school starts again!

What have you been busy doing this summer?

Adventures in Amblyopia: Dealing with Jealousy

It's been quite awhile since I've done a post about our adventures with amblyopia, which makes me kind of sad.  So...I'm going to try really hard to get back on that boat.

The topic that's been most on my mind lately is that awful, green-lettered word: Jealousy.

My 3 year old is insanely jealous of his big brother.  Jealous that big bro gets to go to a special eye doctor.  Jealous that big bro gets to wear cool eye patches.  Jealous that big bro (and mom, and dad, and grandparents) gets to wear fun glasses and gets special attention for those said glasses.

So, my 3 year old loves anything related to eye wear.

Which kind of makes me laugh.  If only he knew there was absolutely nothing to be jealous of, AND if I could get my 5 year old to be half as interested in patching as his little brother was, my life would be a breeze!

In order to help him feel more like a part of the "in" crowd we found an old pair of glasses (left behind by one of my brothers, I think) and popped the lenses out so he could have his very own pair of glasses.  He wore these things for several days straight.  And he still keeps tabs on them; he wants to know exactly where they're at; maybe in case he needs them right away?  Who knows.  But it seems to have helped for the moment.

So my question to you is: have you had to deal with jealousy issues at your home with glasses and/or patching?  How did you handle it?

Breakfast Cookies

On Instagram over the weekend, I posted this photo:

Healthy Breakfast Cookies.
And, since I was asked by several to post the recipe, I figured this would be the easiest way to do it!
So, here you go!

Healthy Breakfast Cookies
(adapted from The Sneaky Chef)

First:
Make a flour mixture using equal parts all purpose flour, whole wheat flour and wheat germ.  I always do a minimum of a cup each, but I use this flour mix for lots of other things.  You only need 1.25 cups total for this recipe.

Then, puree (making as smooth as possible)
3 cups raw baby spinach leaves
1.5 cups of blueberries (fresh or frozen)
1/2 t. lemon juice and
1-2 T water

I usually will double or triple this (especially when berries are on sale).  I then freeze it in 1/4 c. amounts.  One batch makes 1 cup.  You need 3/4 c. for the recipe.

Then combine in order:

1 1/4. c flour mixture
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
6 T. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
3/4 c. puree mix from above
6 T. canola oil
Powdered Sugar for dusting
(I also like to add a handful of chocolate chips to the recipe.  It's not necessary, but helps my super picky eaters believe they really are eating chocolate chip cookies for breakfast)

You could also easily add a few tablespoons of protein powder to the mix as well.  I may have to try that next batch...

Once everything is mixed well, drop by spoonfuls on a greased or parchment paper lined cookie sheet.  Bake at 350 for 12-14 minutes.  Remove from pan and let cool on a rack.  Dust with powdered sugar and enjoy!

I seriously let my children eat as many of these as they want.  I have one child who will willingly only eat peanut butter sandwiches with an occasional applesauce.  So for him, getting spinach AND blueberries in him is a BIG deal.

And word to the wise?  DO NOT EAT THE DOUGH.  It does not taste good.  Well, according to my husband anyway.  Once baked though, he scarfed down 2 or 3!  :)

What do you think?  How do you sneak healthy food into your super picky eaters?

Things I've Learned...

About Being a Mother of 3.

Everybody tried to warn me.
"If you can handle 3, anything more than that is cake."
"3 kids is SO much harder than 2".
"My third child totally rocked my world".
"It took me an entire year to adjust to having 3 kids".

And now, only 4.5 weeks into life with three children, I can definitely say it is more of a challenge.
Don't get me wrong.  This little beauty is more than worth it.

But, as a person who dwells on structure, schedules and plans,
this new life of, well, absolute chaos, is throwing me for a serious loop.
There is yet to be any planning for anything.  There is absolutely no structure.
And every.single.time I try to schedule anything, it blows up in my face.

So, here is my advice to any of you who are contemplating adding your third bundle of joy
(although I think it could be useful for any addition to your adorable little families!).

1.  Know that it is going to be hard, and then take it easy on yourself.  My biggest frustration was my complete inability to move past the "difficulty" of having 3 kids, and not being able to figure it out within the first 3 weeks of Little Miss' life.  I'm still trying to let go of the fact that I don't have it all together yet, and that in and of itself is making it easier for me.  Don't get me wrong.  I still feel like I'm losing my mind on a daily basis.  And my husband still occasionally comes home to find me in tears.  But.  I'm accepting the fact that for me, right now, that is okay.  (And it is!!)

2.  Allow others to serve you.  I am not one to ask for help.  Like EVER.  Nor am I one to accept it when offered.  I am more than happy to help anybody else in any way I can, but I'm more of a I-can-do-everything-by-myself-thank-you-very-much kind of girl.  But with this baby, I had absolutely no choice but to ask, and accept, the help of others.  Some days I feel like I have used and abused my girlfriends way beyond what is acceptable, but they are lovely and wonderful and never complain.  I have no clue what I would have done the last 2 months without some amazing girlfriends!!  It is OKAY to need help sometimes.  And it is more than okay to accept that help.  If people offer meals?  Take it!  And here's my biggest piece of advice: If they ask when you'd like that meal, ask them to wait until 3 or 4 weeks after you've had the baby.  Chances are good that you will have enough help immediately after you get home.  It's when life gets back to normal and there's no extra help around that those dinners that just show up will be a god-send.

3.  Sometimes, TV is okay for the "olders".  I hate letting my kids just veg in front of the tv.  HATE IT.  But sometimes, a momma's got to do what a momma's got to do!  If letting them watch TV allows me 30 minutes of quiet, "fighting/yelling/whining/destroying the house and/or begging for help" free time so I can feed the baby in peace, so be it.  Their brains aren't going to turn to mush.  And after 3 days (or more?  I sometimes lose count) of not getting a shower, another episode of Super Why is totally worth it.

4.  Take a time out for yourself!!  Walking half way around my block to check our mail is sometimes my favorite part of my day.  And if it weren't for that tiny activity, I could probably go for days without ever leaving my home.  But even that miniscule amount of time allows me a breath of fresh air, 30 seconds of silence and half a minute to shake the cobwebs from my head.  I love it when I manage to sneak in a long, hot shower at night too for the exact same reasons.  And if your kiddos are still away when you're sneaking that long, hot, shower?  LOCK THE DOOR.

All that said, I absolutely LOVE being a mom.  I love and cherish my 3 little ones more than life itself.  I cannot imagine my life without any of them or the insanity that sometimes comes with them.  They are adorable.  They love me unconditionally.  And even though 3 is hard right now, I know that eventually, we'll get it all ironed out and I'll wonder what all the stress was for!

Gourmet Baby Food - The Best money saver you will be glad you tried

Pictures via Pinterest

When I became a mom for the first time 4 years ago, I was amazed at how expensive it was to start out with your first kid.  I am sure you all relate to that.  Food and formula expecially.  I was determined to save money.  Since I was only able to nurse a couple of months, I had to spend the rest of that first year buying formula.  EXPENSIVE.  Even using the generic brands.  So I told myself I would make my own baby food.  Why not?  Its so easy and I can make a little here and there, and even eventually when age allowed, puree whatever it was we had for dinner that night.  So wonderful.  Now on baby number 3, I have gotten even more creative with my own baby food, after reading up on my own research.

Before I start, I am doing this post from a different computer and forgot all about my photos on my computer, so I used what I found from Pinterest.  Thanks.

Here are a few things you want to think about when you start your wonderful tasty journey to money saving.

-use fresh, frozen or organic produce.  Sprouts has great prices on their produce, Bountiful Baskets is a GREAT way to get a variety of fresh produce for real cheap.  Walmart price matches, Target price matches to Albertsons, Walmart and Sprouts, BUT YOU HAVE TO BRING IN THE ADD.
if you decide to use canned food, you will have let nutrients.  But it is still just fine to get your baby started, or if you need a quick fix.  Make sure your vegitables are unsalted and your fruits are in water NOT Syrup.  Rinse the food before processing.

-use Filtered water, or Nursery water that is found in Grocery stores in the baby section to add to your food when pureeing it

-Wait three feedings when introducing new foods so you can see if there are any allergies

-You dont' necessarily have to use bland food.  If you are nursing your baby, they are already customed to the flavors through breast milk so go ahead and add a little garlic, or a tad of onion, paprika, butter, or a little salt to flavor the vegis.  They will enjoy their greens believe me.

-frozen food will last up to 3  months, so label your food properly.  2-3 days in the fridge.

Tools you will find useful:

Blender, food processor.  I have a magic bullet I have had and loved since they day they aired the info-mercial.  ITs fast and has a great little cup.  They make a "Baby Bullet" version, especially made for making baby food.  It comes with storage containers, and freezing trays.

Icecube trays or breast milk storage bags.  On average, each icecube is about 1 0z.  The first stage of baby food is 2-3 oz.  So 3 cubes of food for your beginning baby.  The breast milk storage bags are great for freezing and they are ready for labeling.  Easy to thaw in a bowl of warm water.

Freezer bags for your seperate foods, beans, peas, carrots, peaches etc...

Now are you ready for some great foods that you probably never realized that your new baby could eat right off the bat?
Avacado...yep.  Its easy to make just mash with a fork. It has the good fats the help your baby develope.
Broccoli, Mandarine Oranges, Lentils, LEafy greens like spinach, blueberries and meat etc...

Basic Tips to preparing food:

Prepare food that is washed.  Steam in a pot on the stove, a steamer, or microwave.  Use filtered water.  Pour food in a large bowl once cooked, to cool before blending.  For first beginner foods, especially, make sure it is blended completely.  Food should have the consistancy of apple sauce.  Not too thick, but not too thin.  Blend completely adding filtered water as needed.  Pour food into icecube trays or breast mild storage bags to freeze.  after they are mostly frozen, then transfer them to a freezer bag that is labeled clearly with the date.  Food will last 2-3 days in the fridge or up to 3 months in the freezer.  Make sure all the air is out of the bag each time you open it.

RECIPES!  YAY!

you have your basics for first foods.  Remember don't combine foods til you know they are not allergic.  Then "cocktail" it up.

Mixed vegis. beans, corn, peas, carrots and sweet potatoes, 1 tsp butter, pinch of garlic powder, water. blend.

Sweet Potatoes and Pears and water

Mashed red potatoes, corn, beans, a little butter, pinch of garlic, rosemary water.

Sweet Potatoes, Spinach and Chicken, a little butter, water blend

Canned Pumpkin

Dried Prunes, water

Blueberries, bananas, rolled oats (cooked)

Apples and Carrots.  (cookd the apples if boiling water) water

mandarine oranges.  These are really runny so they are great to add in cereals like a juice

salmon, green beans and rice (cooked), water, garlic, butter

pasta and meatballs with a little marinara sauce, water

Rice cereal:  Cooked rice mixed with formual, blend really well

Yogurt Bites:  Your favorite flavourd yogurt, put into sandwich baggie, cut a corner at the tip, then pour little dabbles the size of a dime on a tray.  Freeze.  Put into baggies.  These are great little snacks for at home and cheaper than buying the yogurt bites at the store.

if you need more food ideas, walk the baby food section and write down what the store brands are doing. once allergies are determined then prepare food as you want.  the more flavours and varieties they are exposed to garaunteed the better eater your toddler will be.  Start good eating habits now.  YOu won't regret it.  PUree the dinner you had at the restaurant!  PUree anything you would eat, Leaving out Honey, Corn Syrup (botulism issues) and dairy products til your Dr recommends its ok.

Enjoy your new venture.  I still can't believe how expensive it can be if you constantly bought baby food.  This is a great healter, easier, more cost effective way to make your baby happy.

Guest Blogger: Two In Diapers

Hi! I'm Cassie! I normally blog over at Two In Diapers, but I'm super thrilled to be filling in for Alyssa today over here at Kadydid Designs! Thanks so much for having me, friend!

I am the overly proud momma of three precious kiddos, ages 4, 2, and 1. Two In Diapers is my home sweet home for sharing the everyday and many-times hilarious events that happen in our busy household!

I thought I'd try to give you a quick picture of one of the many moments that occur around our home!

I was busy doing this or that, and happen to look down in the family room where Grayson {14 months} was playing quietly...

...just in time to see articles of
once-neatly-folded clothing flying one by one across the room at the
hand of a tiny and very busy little boy
.

 I suppressed a giggle, as I watched
the basket empty completely in about 30 seconds flat.

Satisfied, Grayson crawled away... with a pair of his big sister Emily's itty-bitty panties attached to his foot.

Love brief moments like these! Motherhood is so much about appreciating the humor in every situation!

If you found any part of this story funny, or even just enjoy looking at photos of cute kids, then you should definitely come on over and follow our story at Two In Diapers!

Thanks again, Alyssa, for letting me come over and visit today!

Guest Blogger: and here's to you, Mrs. Robinson

While I am out on my little maternity leave, I have an entire line of guest bloggers set up for you! I am so grateful for each of these ladies who have stepped up to help me out. First up is Megan from {and here's to you, Mrs. Robinson}. I love reading her blog; it's so refreshing and honest and uplifting.

Take it away, Megan!

Before I became a mother, I had a whole list of things I was going to do every day
and things I refused to ever do.
I thought I knew how it would go down.
I set high expectations for myself and my baby {who I had yet to meet}.
And because I had such high standards, if I didn't live up to them I thought I was a terrible mother.
There were many times I would read books, articles, and yes, some other mommy blogs and think,
"I don't do that. My baby doesn't do that. What is wrong with us?"
I would beat myself up so much about it that at times it was hard for me to enjoy what was really there.

Photobucket

And what was really there was a happy, loving, beautiful baby boy who loved me.
A healthy, chubby son with big brown eyes and a head full of baldness.
A crazy mover and shaker who refused to stay still and taught himself to roll, crawl, and walk very early on.
A new, eternal, incredible bond between my son and I that I would cherish forever.
And all of the other wonderful things that come with motherhood.
It took me a while but I eventually learned my most important lesson of motherhood:
I AM THE MOTHER.
I am the mother. Me. Not my neighbor, not my friend, not other bloggers, not even my doctor.
Me.
And only I know my baby best.
I know how he likes to be held at night to go to sleep.
I know how he likes to cuddle, feeling safe and warm in my arms.
I know how he eats, sleeps, and likes to play.
I know how he learns and how he interacts.
I know.
I know.
Yes, books and friends and blogs all have their place.
There were many times where I was at a complete loss and needed to turn to someone for help and they were there. But it was still very important that I used my own gut and intuition to know what was right for me and my son.

Photobucket

My son and I are both very happy even though most of the things I said I would do {or never do} didn't actually happen.
He is happy because I learned to recognize his needs, his temperament, and let him be himself.
I am happy because I have lowered the expectations for myself greatly and have tried to take it day by day, enjoying all the sweet moments.
Motherhood is not easy. Nor is it the same experience for everyone.
We are all different. Our children are different.
But we are all meant to be together with our children for a reason.
I know my son was meant specifically for me.
I know he was meant to bring special blessings only meant for me.
He brings me such great happiness that I never thought was possible.
And when I remember to trust myself and my own abilities, the stresses of living up to an unknown standard melts away and I am able to be the best mother to my son that I can be.

Guest Blogger: Hi! It's Jilly!

Okay...I am "officially" on maternity leave for a bit!  In fact, as I'm typing this I am timing contractions and hoping to go to the hospital soon.  I hope you enjoy all the guest bloggers I have lined up for the next few weeks.  Be sure to check out all their cute blogs and give them some love!  And a huge thanks to all the ladies who are helping me out!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi! It’s Jilly. I am SO excited to be guest posting here today. Alyssa was one of my first friends when we moved to our new house a few years ago, and I am tickled pink that she is finally having a sweet little girl join her family soon!

A little introduction to me…I have been married to my hubby for 10 years. He is a podiatry resident. We have 7 year old TRIPLETS. Yes, you read that right. TRIPLETS- 2 girls & 1 boy. On my blog I like to write  about TV characters that annoy mehome & craft projects, recipes, and anything else in my crazy life that tickles my fancy!

Today I’d like to share with you the Top 5 Ways to Help Out a New Mom. As a mother of triplets I needed a LOT of help when those kiddos came home from the hospital! I wouldn’t have survived without help from my sweet husband, friends, family, and people from my church.

allthreewatermarked

So, here we go…

#1- Don’t be shy. Give her a call, ask what you can do to help, and be willing to do whatever she needs. It might even be something seemingly silly, like running an errand, watching the baby while she showers, or cleaning her bathroom. Don’t be afraid to see a need & jump in to help.

threeoncouch

#2- Be understanding. Sometimes as a new mom it’s hard to ask for help, or you might be so sleep-deprived that you just don’t want to see anyone. That’s ok. If the new momma doesn’t want visitors, don’t feel offended. Try another day, or leave an encouraging note on her door. Figuring things out when you’re a new mom can be difficult sometimes.

threeinarchbynewlinephotography

#3- Bring her a meal. And, it doesn’t always have to be dinner, either. Bring over  stuff to make an easy breakfast (bagels, cream cheese, fruit) or lunch (rolls, lunchmeat, cheese), or an assortment of snacks. People have to eat breakfast and lunch, too! And, the snacks are important, too, especially if she is nursing.

If you want to coordinate dinners for her there is a great website called TakeThemAMeal.com. People can sign up with when & what they’re bringing, so everyone’s on the same page & not bringing the same casserole 3 days in a row! And, it sends a reminder e-mail the day before you signed up to bring the meal, so you don’t forget. Easy peasy!
Take Them A Meal

#4- Save the advice. Sometimes it’s tempting to give the new mom a ton of information, but it’s not always welcome. In fact, it can be down-right overwhelming!  If the new mom asks for advice, then feel free to share, but just remember that every child and every parent is different. Not every method works on every child. Let her figure out what’s best for her child, and don’t get offended if she doesn’t take your advice.

headsonthegrass

#5- Be a friend. When swimming in the sleep-deprived haze of new-mom-dom it is easy to lose yourself and feel pretty non-human! Let your friend know she is not alone, and give her a chance to socialize. Go on a walk around the block with her, send her a funny postcard, bring her a package of her favorite candy, send a light-hearted text or e-mail, etc. These RAOK will brighten her day.

laughingkidsbyashley

I hope some of these tips helped! I know the new mom in your life will appreciate any help you can give her! And, if you are a new mom yourself, feel free to share this post with any well-meaning friends and family who want to help, but don't know how.

Thanks again, Alyssa, for having me guest post on your blog today! I hope your little one arrives without any complications, and I wish I could see her in person!

For more excitement from my house, follow my blog at Hi! It’s Jilly, on FacebookPinterest, or Twitter. See you soon! :)

New Baby Coming? Books for Big Brother or Sister

A few months ago, a friend handed me a pile of books for me to read to my boys to help prepare them for the new baby coming. My boys LOVE these books! We have been reading them several times a week, and my 4 year old talks about the books (and what he's learned from the books) all the time. I wanted to pass them along to you in case you have little ones expecting a new baby in the house too!

I'm A Big Brother

This one is the simplest of the 3 books we're reading.  My 4 year old has it memorized, and my 2 year old loves it.  It's perfect for his little attention span!  It does a really good job of explaining the difference between what big boys can do and what babies can do (which is great since I know my 2 year old is going to have a really hard time giving up the "baby position").

The Berenstain Bears: New Baby

Who doesn't love the Berenstain Bears?  My 4 year old especially loves this book!  It's just a fun story about prepping for baby.  It does make it look like baby comes within 5 minutes, but I'm sure that's just a Mom thing to notice!  Brother Bear has to give up his bed for the new baby; which I think helped my son hand his bed over for the new baby too.  Pretty cute!

And lastly,
Baby on the Way

This is by far the most informative book we've read.  Maybe a little too informative, although it's easy enough to "censor" for younger readers (maybe I'm crazy, but I don't think my 2 year old needs to be worried about how the uterus works quite yet).  There is an illustration of a baby in mommy's belly, which my boys LOVE looking at; realizing that's what their baby sister looks like too.

So that's our current reading list in our home!  What books did you read to your little ones to help prep them for a new baby?

Pregnancy Peeves

I am about ready to wear a sign around my neck that just answers the most frequently asked questions I get while I'm out and about so I can stop repeating myself a thousand times over.  Here's what it would say:

1.  Yes. I know my belly is huge.  No.  I am not carrying multiples or due any day now.  I have until October.

2.  I really feel fine, thank you!  I am still capable of doing my normal day to day activities, and even a few extras.  Ask me again in another month or two, and the answer may be different. :)

3.  Why yes, I do have my hands full with two little boys, thanks for noticing, and while we're thrilled to be having a little girl, it is not a relief.  We would have been just as happy with another boy.

4.  I know I have the entire Phoenix summer to deal with.  Trust me. I know!!

5.  No. This is not my first baby.  It is my third; so yes, I have kind of an idea as to what I'm getting into.

6.  Frankly, it is none of your business if we are "done yet".  However. "Done Yet" implies that we have more children than we need or should want, which is farther from the truth.  Each one of our babies were (somewhat) planned and we love each of them.  We love being parents and we love our little family more than anything.

My belly at 28 weeks.  Welcome to the 3rd trimester!! Is it weird that with this pregnancy I can never remember exactly how pregnant I am?
I have to keep looking it up...

I will say that regardless of the dumb questions I get, this is the first pregnancy that I have not had one single stranger come up and rub my belly in public.  I'll take dumb questions over invasion of physical space any day.

What we some of the most interesting (or irritating/humorous/embarrassing) questions you received from perfect strangers while pregnant?

A Random Look into My Past Week

Just a few random photos/stories from the happenings around my house this week...

THIS is what happens when I'm trying to clean up raspberry applesauce out of the carpet in the hallway (Dont' ask. Had something to do with one little boy stealing another little boy's blue spoon, therefore leaving Boy B with no spoon?  I don't know.  There were two spoons on the table.  Why they needed to run their applesauce down the hallway is beyond me):

A 24oz bottle of Comet all over the kitchen floor.  Because Mom obviously wasn't A) frustrated enough at the red stains in the carpet and B) not busy enough cleaning those said stains out of the carpet and needed something else to do at that very moment.

Luckily, I have an amazing husband, who, when he receives a phone call from his pregnant wife in tears over her already horrible day that had just become 100 times worse, leaves work early to take over cleaning and parenting duties.  Otherwise, those two little boys may still be sitting out on the curb.  (I will say, that as soon as David got home, my attitude improved greatly!  And, after consoling myself with some more ice cream and a good nights sleep, the next day was drastically better!  And no, I would never really put my children out on the curb).

This is one of the many lizards hanging out in our backyard this year.  He looks much smaller in this photo, but he is the length of my husband's hand...from thumb to pinkie.  He was very tame and calm, and almost let David catch him.   Almost.  That's okay.  I don't want and/or need two little boys figuring out that they can, indeed, catch the lizards if they really want to.

And this is my 20 week belly shot.  Had just rolled out of bed, so no hair.  No make up.  Pretty, right?  Anyway...so far this is still my "miracle" baby.  20 weeks and have still only gained 6 pounds.  My goal this go around is no more than 15.  And let it go on record, that if by some miracle, at the end of my 6 week recovery period I can end up weighing less than I did when I started this pregnancy, this WILL be my favorite child.  :)

There's our crazy week!  What went on at your house this week?

Etsy Shop Spotlight Baby Style Girly Edition

Last week, I showed you some of my top picks in case this little one is a boy.  This week, it's all about girls!  This was a lot harder for me to narrow down, just because
              a) girls are a lot easier to shop for!
and b) since I only have boys, girl stuff is FUN to shop for!!

So, without further ado, here's my current must haves for a little girl!

1.  This little ruffled bloomer set from {Rae Gun}.  Seriously adorable and I just want to buy it right now, regardless of whether I'm having a boy or a girl.

2. The All in One Diaper Changing Clutch Wristlet from {Foxy Vida}.  Are you kidding me? I'd gladly use this as my own wristlet on date night!!

3.  Adorable ruffle bloomers and legwarmers from {Baby Night Night Boutique}.  This is another shop that I would seriously love to have one of everything.  Plus, I met the shop owner, Tricia, a few months ago, and she is seriously the sweetest thing ever.  Regardless, I love, love, LOVE her ruffle bums and legwarmers!!

4. Isn't this headband gorgeous?  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that if I do end up having a girl that she has just as much hair as my boys.  And then I'll be buying all sorts of pretty little things like this from {Avry Couture Creations}.

5. And what little girl doesn't need a little bling?  This dainty little bracelet from {Six Sisters Beadworks} is perfect.

Okay!  So there's my current top 5 must have items for a girl!
Monday's the big day...we'll keep you posted!
