Kids Tent

This.

This collapsible tent is by far my favorite handmade gift of this holiday season.  Using the tutorial at Just Another Hangup, my husband and I whipped this up for our 2 year old daughter.  It was seriously so easy!  If anybody wants one of their own, I'd be happy to do one for you...I've added a listing in the shop HERE.  I am so in love!!

Luckily, she loved it just as much!  It was a great place for her to stash all her Christmas goodies yesterday; keeping everything safe from brothers and dogs.  And with a few twinkle lights added to it; perfectly magical for Christmas morning!

Instagram + Etsy

Every once in awhile, I stumble across some cute little Etsy shops while I'm playing on Instagram.  I wanted to share a handful of them that I happened to find this week.  I can't wait to purchase something from each of them!!

Mason jars are all the rage right now.  And why not?  My family has been drinking from mason jars for as long as I can remember. It's just the Southern thing to do, ya'll! (No. I'm not from the south, although I have lived in a couple southern states.  However, my dad and grandmother *are* southerners - I got me a ton of family in Birmingham). Anyway. Twinkle Twinkle Lil Jar takes those fun little jars and adds a bit of glitz and glitter to them.  Cute, right?  Can't wait to snag one!!

And these mugs?
I see all 4 of my children's teachers receiving these for Christmas this year.  Too cute!

You can find Twinkle Twinkle Lil Jar on Instagram HERE!

I am seriously dying over these adorable MariaPalito Patterns.  I am having a hard time not buying each and every one of her patterns and just sewing till my fingers fall off.  SO. CUTE.  Be sure to follow her on Instagram so you can keep an eye on any new patterns or ideas.  You will love having her in your feed!

Little Tree Naturals (based out of Ohio) makes natural products for the entire family.  I was just telling my husband the other night how much I wanted a really good mask.  This may be just the ticket!
And isn't this just the prettiest toothpaste you've ever seen?  I don't think I'd mind so much when my kids leave the toothpaste laying out on the counter for the gazillionth time.

Obviously, you can find Little Tree Natural on Etsy, but be sure to give them some Insta-love too!

Toddler Maxi Dress

I am always looking for sewing projects that involve something other than the stuff I'm typically sewing (ie baby accessories for the shop).  My favorite little person to sew for right now is my Jessalyn.  So, when I stumbled across a super cute maxi dress from Heidi & Finn, I couldn't resist!

I've blogged about my experience with Heidi & Finn patterns before...remember the sweet Red Poppy Dress I made this spring?  Well.  Just to remind you - I love their patterns.  They are affordable, adorable and super easy to follow.  In one afternoon and I had this cute little number:

(you can find her headband HERE)

I was a little worried about the length of the dress; I went back and forth trying to decide if I should shorten it up or leave it long.  I didn't want her tripping over it all the time.  I was just too in love with the idea of this sweet boho outfit that I couldn't bring myself to shorten it. Luckily, Jessa has had no problem with the longer length.  She managed a full day running around the aquarium without one trip or tumble.

It is the perfect summer dress for super hot Arizona summers (And autumn.  And spring.).  I think we'll be getting a great deal of use out of this adorable dress!

Have you tried Heidi & Finn patterns yet?  If not - go for it!  Oh.  And by the way?  This is in no way sponsored by Heidi & Finn.  I just really love their stuff.  A lot.  Happy sewing!!

Craft Show Etiquette

As some of you may know, I run a craft boutique with a couple of girlfriends twice a year.  We just wrapped up our spring event and are busy getting ready for our fall event.  Since everything is fresh in my mind, I wanted to write up an etiquette list for any craft show vendor.  If you're brand new to the craft show/boutique scene, this will be perfect for you!  It's also a nice reminder for seasoned vendors. :)

So.  In no particular order, here's what I would tell new vendors:

1.  Provide anything your event planner needs as it's asked for.  Vendor fees, applications, photos of your product and/or an image of your logo may all be things your event planners may ask for.

2.  Have questions?  Ask!  Our event demands vendors to provide their own tables.  However, one of our vendors was about to back out because she couldn't locate a table.  Once she explained her dilemma, we were more than happy to help her locate a table so she could keep her space.  Your even planners want to help you!  However, do keep in mind that the more favors you ask/demand; the quicker you're going to run out of favor.  Here's the bottom line.  Ask for help if you need it, but don't be demanding and needy.

3.  Make sure you are set up for the event ON TIME!!!  Nothing is more frustrating than to be ready to open the doors and realize you're missing a vendor or three.  Not only is it irritating for the event planners to have you setting up late, it's also rude to your fellow vendors and the shoppers.  It may also affect your table space/location as planners will rearrange last minute to hide any empty spots.

4.  On the flip side, DO NOT BREAK DOWN EARLY.  If your event runs until 5:00 pm, that means you are sitting at your booth with a smile on your face until 5:00 pm.  Perhaps later if there are shoppers still browsing.  When you signed up for the event, you made a commitment to be there for the full shopping hours.  Breaking down early to try to sneak out quickly just makes everybody mad and will probably hurt your chances for getting into that same show again later down the road.

5.  If you have to cancel your appearance at a show, let your event planners know ASAP.  Chances are good that there is a waiting list of vendors who would love to take your spot.  The sooner you know you aren't going to make the show (due to emergencies or you just change your mind about doing it), the easier it will be for your place to be filled.

6.  Lastly - HAVE FUN!!!  Craft shows are the perfect networking opportunity.  Kick back, relax and get to know your neighbors.  You may come away with a new best friend...or 10.

What do you think?  Did I leave anything out?  What are your biggest pet peeves as a craft show vendor?

Oh!  And by the way?  We are having a contest on our Facebook page to rename our boutique!  Head on over, leave your suggestion(s) and you could win a $25 Etsy gift card! (You do NOT have to be local to win!)

Etsy Shop Spotlight: k2forYou

Welcome to Thursday!
Our Etsy Shop Spotlight today is K2forYou.
This shop is full of all sorts of machine embroidered goodies.

I happened to stumble across Jill's shop while I was looking for Halloween accessories for my son.  He is dressing up as a werewolf this year, and this mask is perfect.  It fits him perfectly too - and he loves it.

And, I can just imagine a handful of little girls that would love this butterfly mask.  Jill has many others to choose from; perfect for any costume or everyday dress up.

I love, love, LOVE tea towels in my kitchen.  Seriously.  Did I mention that I love them?  I have a ton that we got as wedding gifts that are going to need to be replaced soon, and I think I may have found the perfect spot to get them.  Aren't these so pretty??

Be sure to stop by K2forYou and check out all of her amazing items.  Especially if you are still hunting for those last minute Halloween accessories!
