Felt Playhouse

I saw this idea on Homemade by Jill. It was supposed to be a Christmas present for my boys last year. They were going to wake up Christmas morning and find this on the table (it's a slipcover to fit our dining room table). I worked fast and furious and got much of it done, but then we decided to go out of town for Christmas and I decided not to worry about it. After all, it won't fit on anyone else's table. Since then, I have been slowly working on it here and there. This weekend, after almost an entire year, I finally finished it.

So here's their playhouse. You can find all the instructions and some templates on Jill's blog (go here). The flowers can be picked from the planter, and the mailbox does close.
Brychan is in love with that little owl. And to the left is going to be a garden once I finish all the produce for it. I think I'm going to hang a "clothesline" across the top there too.
The doggie door (which our dog actually uses!). It has a magnetic bone that the boys can put in the dog dish.
The back window
And some of the produce. The apples and oranges will hang from the trees (and I think since we're all citrus in Phoenix, I'll eventually add lemons to the mix), and the garden will have carrots, lettuce, pumpkins and maybe some corn on the cob. Or peas and tomatoes? I haven't decided yet.
It's definitely not perfect, but I figure it really doesn't have to be. And the boys love it, which is all that matters! Hopefully it will last for years to come!

Oh, this is awesome! What a great surprise! I'd love to have you link it up at my new party! It's called Tuesday's Nursery and its for everything in kids decor at any age. I'd also like to include it in my accessories gallery - I'm realizing I need a "playroom" gallery, too. lol! I hope you can make it. Oh, here's a direct link: http://playfuldecor.blogspot.com/2011/08/tuesdays-nursery.html
