Design and *WIN* Your Own Car Seat Canopy!!

As I gear up to get the shop going in full swing again (after enjoying the summer relaxing with my babes), I am looking for fresh and new ideas for car seat canopies in the shop.

I need your help picking out new fabric combos!

Simply visit an online fabric store and come back to leave a comment with the links to your favorite fabric swatches.  The reader that picks out a combo that I absolutely love the most will win a car seat canopy in those fabrics. **Keep in mind that you need at least two different (yet coordinating) fabrics for your canopy.**

So.  A few details.

1.  Fabrics can be picked from ANY online source.  A few suggestions?  Fabric.comFabricworm, Raspeberry Creek Fabrics, or Fashionable Fabrics.  Again, these are just suggestions.  As long as I can follow a link back to your fabric choices, they can really come from anywhere!

2.  It's best to keep to cotton, corduroy, flannel and/or minky.

3.  You have 2 weeks to pick fabrics and share!  I will announce a winner on July 20.

4.  And, so sorry, but this little contest is only open to readers in the US.

Any questions?  Leave them below and I'll respond to you asap.  I cannot wait to see what you all come up with!

Good luck and have fun!!

Instagram

I know this blog has kind of been MIA for the past little while.  And mostly it's been because the shop has been SO incredibly busy.

But.  I have been keeping up (kind of) over on Instagram.  I'd love for you to come on over and see what we've been up to!  You can find me HERE.  A little bit of Kadydid, a bit of randomness and a lot of my kiddos.  :)

Plus, we'd LOVE to see your Kadydid Designs products in action!  Take a photo of your cuties using their Kadydid "gear" and post it with hash-tag #kadydiddesigns so we can all check it out!

My most recent Instagram photo?  This amazing stack of Riley Blake fabric that arrived (along with several other yards of fabric) in my mail today.  Access to wholesale prices may prove to be very dangerous!  ;)

Favorite Fabric Shops

People ask me all the time where I buy my fabric.  I rarely buy anything but solid colors and flannel at Joann's or Hobby Lobby.  I try really hard to support other Etsy shops, and then I've stumbled across a few other online stores as well.  Since everybody always asks, I thought I'd compile a list share my favorites with you!

1. {Fabric.com}
    Obviously, this isn't a new site to many of you.  Their prices aren't always the cheapest, but with their free shipping with any purchase over $35.00, I can buy a ton at once and it ends up being cheaper.  And their design boards make it easier to match patterns/colors/etc.

2. {Raspberry Creek Fabric}
  Raspberry Creek is one of my top picks.  They have such a huge selection with many cute bundles.  And, they are an Etsy shop with a large flannel selection.  I love my flannel!  They also have an Etsy seller discount which I really appreciate.

3. {Fabric Shoppe}
 I know.  Another fairly well known.  But I still can't help but love it!  I've managed to get some killer deals through The Fabric Shoppe by watching Twitter at *just the right time*.  Excellent customer service, super fast shipping...couldn't ask for more!

4. {Stitch Stash Diva}
 This is one of my new favorite finds!!  I just recently found Tayva's shop on Etsy, and I adore buying from her.  She is so excited about her shop and you really feel like each fabric you purchase from her is one of her personal favorites.  She is super cute and makes it really fun buying there!

5. {Three Dolls Fabric}
 I honestly don't know what I would do without Three Dolls Fabric.  I buy 99% of my Amy Butler fabric there (more specifically, Amy Butler's Wallflower and Full Moon dots - which I use to make our most popular {car seat cover ever}).  I don't know what I'll do when they run out of it!  They are always quick to do my custom orders and seem to get it out to me even faster. Love, love, love them!!

These last two shops I have just found in the last week, but have already placed orders through them.

 {Fashionable Fabrics} and {Hawthorne Threads}.

Fashionable Fabrics has a large selection and is really easy to shop.  They've categorized all their fabrics in several different ways (collection, manufacturer, designer, print) so it's easy to find exactly what you're looking for.  If I'm in the mood to make little boy things, I can look at all their fabrics especially geared for little boys.  Makes my life easier!

Hawthorne Threads is my newest find and I just placed my first order this week, actually.  However, I was able to find a specific fabric that everybody else was completely sold out of.  That makes me very excited!

So...the next time you find yourself needing fabrics, be sure to check out one of these shops!  If you're like me, you're bound to find something you love!!

Etsy Shop Spotlight: Bloome Fabrics

As an Etsy shop owner, I try really hard to buy as many of my supplies from other Etsy shops. I figure most of them are probably moms like me, just trying to make a few extra bucks doing something that they love. And I love trying to support that!

I have a couple of Etsy fabric stores that I turn to regularly for material. One of those is Bloome Fabrics. I am always telling myself that I am not purchasing anymore fabric until I use up everything that I already have, and Sandra has "made" me change my mind a couple of times. :) Just look at a couple of her bundle samples! I love the Zoology by Michael Miller...
And I actually ordered this Dig It bundle (also by Michael Miller) last month. Side note: my boys loved the fabric, and sat looking at all the trucks for about an hour! I'm going to have to get more...
Sandra also has the most amazing selection of fabrics and PDF patterns. The bibs I make are actually from one of her PDF files. They are amazingly easy to follow, with nice photos along the way to reassure you that you are doing it right! She is working on expanding her selection of PDF patterns, and is currently working on a new pattern for what looks to be an adorable activity quilt. Go check out Bloome Fabrics on Facebook and you can see a sneak peek!!

When you have a minute, stop by Sandra's shop and give her some love! I promise you will find something that you absolutely adore!
